Residents from Alpha and Earl House celebrated completion of major works last weekend (9 September).
Completion of major works to the blocks, including double glazed windows, door entry systems and front entrance doors and painting, has given their homes a new lease of life. New carpets and the planting of two trees will complete the makeover shortly.
The celebrations was organised by CityWest Homes and our contractor Apollo, who carried out the refurbishment to the blocks. Over 50 residents enjoyed an afternoon of fun in the courtyard where there was something for everyone. A bouncy castle and face painting for the young children, a rock choir and a raffle with fantastic prizes ensured the afternoon was a memorable one.
Jackie Stocker, from Alpha House and member of the resident association said: "We were all really pleased with the refurbishment works, it now looks excellent. When we raised issues, they listened to us and resolved our problems”
Residents also raised over £100 for Kids Company, a London based charity that provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.
