CityWest Homes virtual market place is open for suppliers

Taking business to the next level, CityWest Homes has become one of the first housing providers in the UK to use an innovative new e-tendering portal.

CityWest Homes joins Westminster City Council, Kensington and Chelsea, and Hammersmith and Fulham Councils in using the new system, called ‘capitalEsourcing’. Suppliers can register and bid for contracts tendered by one or more of the local authorities through the portal.

Once registered, the system alerts suppliers about contract opportunities. This process is much simpler than the previous system and opens doors to local businesses. Registration is free and businesses will have access via one route to a range of contract opportunities and resources to help them compete in the virtual marketplace.

CityWest Homes already have a number of housing and construction tenders ‘live’ on the system with many more due to be published over the coming months. The system gives buyers one place to manage procurements, award contracts, and monitor performance and will be the single tool used to list upcoming opportunities.

Florence Fenton, acting strategic procurement manager, CityWest Homes, said: “This is a first for CityWest Homes and the way of the future for procurement. It means that any firm can now register through our system to become a part of our virtual business community. We actively encourage smaller, local businesses to register with us and the new system makes this an easy process for them to do so.

“The system will also help us to make cost savings and provide better contract management, data collection and analysis. I am very pleased at how quickly the team have implemented the system. It’s already being rolled out across the organisation and this is only the beginning; in the coming months, we look forward to hosting a thriving virtual market place where businesses across the board can bid.”
