CityWest Homes has been recognised for looking after its people by securing IiP Health and Well-being accreditation. This prestigious award has only been acquired by around 2% of companies in the UK, and complements the organisation’s IiP Gold status, awarded in 2012.
Having passed with flying colours, we were rated on how we support work life balance, health and living our company value: ‘a great place to work’. Staff were interviewed at random and areas which particularly impressed included the strong, consistent approach to ensuring people are cared for as a ‘whole person’. It was also noted that managers recognised the interconnectivity of home and work activities. They appreciate that supporting people to manage their home life is just as critical as giving them the necessary skills and knowledge to do the job.
Jo Bowles, director of HR and corporate communications, CityWest Homes, said: “This award has been three years in the making for us so I’m thrilled we’ve achieved it. Our goal from the start was to put our people first, and develop schemes which support them both at work and at home.
“We know that happy, healthy staff are more engaged, motivated and productive. We also know that our people are the vital asset which makes CityWest Homes tick.
“This award recognises all the work we’ve done. By helping every individual to be the best they can be, we’re on our way to becoming the leading provider of housing services in the UK by 2019.”
