Over 150 residents joined the estate team and volunteers to celebrate St George’s Day. The street party took place in the heart of Mozart estate and had plenty of activities on offer for everyone to enjoy.
There was live music, a bouncy castle, face painting, a magician to entertain the kids and hoopla games. Residents also took part in Mozart estate’s version of the ‘Great British Bake Off’. Six cakes were entered into the competition and the winning entry was a beautiful selection of cupcakes by local resident Simone.
Local resident Mark said: “This is an excellent example of a multi-cultural community living together in harmony. It’s been a wonderful day.”
The event was funded by the Community Champions project, which is led by local people who volunteer to connect the community with services and spread important messages about health. A wide variety of healthy food was available on the day, as well as the popular smoothie making bike.
Guy Sanderson, village manager, CityWest Homes, commented: "It was really fantastic to see so many residents come out and enjoy the party. There is clearly a strong community network on the Mozart estate and I have lost count of the number of people who asked when the next estate event would be held.”
