Puppet masters get to work in Paddington

Several children from the Paddington Green estate recently showed off their creative skills in a free puppet making class. Organised by CityWest Homes and supported by the Little Venice ward fund, the workshop provided the young artists with a variety of materials to create a range of puppets.

After three hours, the children had used their paper mache, paint and masking tape to create their very own works of art.

Amira Fatah, a mum who attended the class with her children Fatima (aged seven) and Tariq (aged six), said: “My children enjoyed making the puppets, which the teachers helped them with. I want my kids to go to this club again.”

Marisol Greenslade, anti-social behaviour manager, CityWest Homes, helped to organise the event. She said: “My main concern had been that younger children’s concentration can tend to wander. After three hours however, everyone had made, painted and designed puppets and costumes - the concentration in the room was intense. As you can see from the smiling faces, everyone had a great time.”
