Local resident Phyllis Pilkington recently celebrated her landmark 101st birthday in style. At a party attended by residents and members of CityWest Homes in Church Street, there were plenty of treats in store for the birthday girl.
A young singer from local school King Soloman Academy sang happy birthday to Phyllis. There was also a treat from local fish and chips shop Seashell, which provided Phyllis and her guests with a free fish and chip supper. They also generously provided Phyllis with a cheque for £101.
Karina Ivanhova, general manager at Seashell said: “We are proud of our 40 years in business, but at 101, Phyllis will be hard to beat. From the whole team we wish her a happy birthday.”
When asked what her secret was, Phyllis said: “I’m well travelled and have lived in different parts of the world. I also love chocolates and a glass of sherry.”
Well done to everyone involved for organising such a fantastic event and we wish Phyllis many happy returns.
