Tenants notified of annual rent increase

We have written, on behalf of Westminster City Council, to all tenants to notify them of their new rent and service charges which come into effect on 7 April 2014.

Rents have been increased in line with national guidelines set out by central government. In Westminster, this means an average increase of 4.52%, which is lower than in most other boroughs across London.

The increase will ensure we continue to provide a high quality service to tenants, improve existing homes and build new affordable homes to meet local housing need.

Our aim is to make our estates as clean, safe and welcoming as we can. This involves carrying out repairs swiftly, and managing our properties and estates effectively and efficiently.

The letter we have sent to tenants includes details of the new rent and service charges It also includes a factsheet explaining how the increase has been calculated.

Tenants who have any questions about their rent or other charges should contact their estate office, who will be happy to help.
