This weekend, take a tour through London's oldest power network

It’s finally here. This weekend, London’s hidden buildings open to the public for the annual Open House London event. For two days, visitors can peek into secret venues, which are closed for the rest of the year.

Joining the hidden gems is CityWest Homes own Pimlico District Heating Undertaking (PDHU). On 20 – 21 September, everyone can step into the depths of the UK’s first combined heat and power network.

PDHU has been a crucial part of London’s history for 60 years. Today, the network provides clean, affordable energy to over 3,300 properties. Visitors can view the engines which power PDHU and climb the 41 metre thermal tower to enjoy breath taking views of London.

Entry is free and PDHU will open from 10am – 5pm on both days. Simply arrive on the day, or contact Tessa Eydmann-Peel, corporate communications adviser, on teydmannpeel@cwh.org.uk or 020 7245 2542 for more information.

We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes on the day, and no loose clothing.

Please note that the last admission to tours and the tower is 4.30pm.
