ABC Co-operative

Atholl and Braemar Houses are blocks of three bedroom maisonettes, built in the early 1960s, and situated in the heart of Maida Vale W9.

Membership of ABC Co-op is open to all residents over the age of 18, who have a permanent tenancy or lease. Membership costs just £1, and entitles you to vote on issues affecting your home.

Opening hours

We have entered into a management agreement with the Council to run housing services for the two blocks. The services we provide include:

  • general repairs and maintenance
  • cleaning
  • grounds maintenance
  • dealing with tenancy issues
  • communal decorations and associated repairs.

The Council pays us an allowance to manage these services.

Progress made

Since the Co-op was formed, we have made savings from our allowance which have been spent on improvements to the blocks. These include -

  • new front doors
  • internal water storage tanks
  • construction of new entrances
  • CCTV
  • hard surface landscaping to ground floor flats.

We are currently discussing the option of a merger with a neighbouring TMO (Thurso Dundee Co-operative). Residents are in the process of being consulted and we hope that we get agreement to go live as the new Maida Vale Resident Management Organisation during the first quarter of 2017/2018
