Hide Tower Resident Management Board

Hide Tower was built in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was constructed on the site of a nursery, and where the garden is now there used to be a row of small terraced houses. One or two of our elderly residents were born and raised in these houses.

We became a Tenant Management Organisation (Hide Tower Residents' Management Board) in January 2000. We had followed a detailed training programme which gave us the expertise to manage the block, and had balloted our residents to make sure that they agreed we should take over the management of the building.

A large number of our residents are members of the Board, and we encourage all residents to join. It costs just 20p to become a member for life. In return you receive a certificate and the opportunity to vote at board meetings. Only with residents' support can we meet our aims of:

  • providing the best possible repairs service, within agreed timescales
  • maintaining Hide Tower to the highest possible standard
  • providing an efficient and effective service
  • building good community spirit.
