Lilestone Co-operative

Lilestone Co-op was set up in 1995, by residents of Orchardson, Westmacott and Wyatt Houses, with the support of Westminster City Council.

Membership of Lilestone Co-op is open to all adult residents of the three blocks, and costs just £1. We would like all residents to become members, as this allows you to vote at meetings on issues that affect where you live and how your home is managed.

Members of the Co-op elect the management committee, who run the Co-op.

Our aim is to -

  • provide an effective and efficient service
  • promote community spirit among the residents of our three blocks.

Responsibilities and staff

We have entered into a management agreement with the Council, to take over and run some key housing services for the blocks. These include -

  • general repairs
  • cleaning
  • grounds maintenance
  • some tenancy issues.

We employ a manager, who has overall responsibility to the Co-op for delivering a high quality, cost-effective repair, caretaking and cleaning service, and for running an efficient office.

We also employ a cleaner / caretaker who is responsible for keeping the grounds and communal areas clean.

We have our own contractor for grounds maintenance.
